Default Desperately in need of help - shoulder lameness
Hi, can anyone out there help please.

The horse has been intermittently lame for some time and has had investigative scans and X-rays. The X-ray has shown an old shoulder injury where a fragment of bone had been torn off the point of the shoulder.

Ultra sound showed that the current lameness is coming from inflamed tendons caused due to rubbing on the rough bone from the old injury. He's now had coming up 3 months box rest and bute with not much change currently showing.

He's due to go back to the vets shortly with an operation being an option. The operation we understand is to cut the tendon but the vets have no experience of it as it has not been widely used in this country.

We're just wondering if anybody has experience of the operation or this kind of injury?

Sorry I haven't any experience of it but would an option not be to smooth the chipped bone so that it stops rubbing the tendons and they settle down?
