Help - nancy has the squits...so what i hear you say, well if you imagine that it takes one snow scoop three attempts to pick one of her Clysdaley poos up, you may begin to imagine. Plus her tail and back legs are green now!!! I have washed her bum and tail twice (would make good community service) but its getting a little chilly to be doing this and its vile. She is bright and happy in herself, not off her food - so what can I give her to bung her up?!

I would wonder what was causing this in the first place! Has she access to anything different? Acorns? Conifers? Diff hay? Has she been on antibiotics for anything?

If you can establish a cause and eliminate it, then put her on a good probiotic and feed normal small meals. Wash her off and apply mane and tail conditioner heavily to her tail and to her back legs to help the nasties slide off.

If it continues CALL A VET!

blather her backend on vaseline so it slides off and doesnt burn her.

dry bran (must be dry otherwise has opposite effect) will firm them up a bit just dont go too far the other way...

vet has said half a carton of natural yoghurt everyday....only prob is she hates her feed now and picks at it like a teenager eating unwanted veg.....I was told bran would give her the runs?

Feel your pain!! My Clydie cross is now named COWPAT KATIE!! ;) You see where im going with this! lol yep messy legs! yep messy tail! and messy sides as she is still swishing flies away... ive been contemplating waterless shampoo but dont think it would work! Im afraid till the grass changes again there is not a huge amount you can do, the vets did every available test on Katie when I first got her and finally said its just the grass, nothing really helps to firm them up much tbh but if you find something let me know!
Sorry not much help am i?? other than dont forget your rubber gloves!

No advice to add, just wanted to congratulate you on your spelling! I have been teaching my students to spell diarrhoea this week and it actually made me smile when I saw it in your thread title! Sad I know!
