I am struggling to feed my boy since he was diagnosed a month ago. Put on G/guard, Coligone, bicar of soda etc, but changed his feed after advice to ERS pellets, top spec alf Alfa (has mint and linseed in) and small amount of speedibeet, but he really won't eat his feed up. Events at novice level and changed to ad lib haylage, and has good weight on him. I was going to change to just ERS pellets and speedibeet only as doesn't like the alf Alfa much . If it wasn't for his supplements I would not be bothered about him having a hard feed. :-$
He is being rescoped on Tuesday so hoping he had improved a little, but know he isn't 100% still as shows mild symptoms

I personally wouldn't use Alfa or speedibeet. For my ulcer horse I use FastFibre, a handful of Readigrass, micronised linseed, Brewers Yeast and Yea Sacc. I also put bicarb in one of his waters.

If he is used to cereal based food, that will all resemble cardboard to him! I found a sprinkle of a cheap mix just helps with the palatability, not enough to be a problem with starch and molasses but just enough to make him think it is real food :)

Thank you yes he was on DH stay power muesli , I do put bi carb in feed, can I ask Frozen Hoof Boots why u don't feed Alfa or beet?
I did try him tonight on just the DH ERS feed and speedibeet with all his supplements and he finished it straight up. Think I may call DH nutritionist on Tues to see what they think about this combination. :$

My ulcer boy (just coming to then end of a second course of gastro guard gets 1 Stubbs scoop Alfa-A oil, (1 mug of fast fibre at the moment too) 1/2 mug micronised linseed, small scoop of fenugreek & alltech lifeforce, he's looking fantastic, the fenugreek really helps to get them eating, he'd turn his nose up at his feed before that was added

I don't feed him Alfa as it makes him footy as he's barefoot. Just personal preference not to feeding beet. He does v well on FF and linseed and can be a v good doer over summer.
