Help dilemma..

Went to see a 2yr old gelding today i saw him by the gate thought he was perfect just what i wanted.he was quiet and let me play with him.but then noticed he had a medium sized lump on his fetlock on his front hoof and was slightly lame.owner didnt know anything about this as she hadnt seen him for a while.woman who owns field been feeding him.anyway she dont want him know and has offered him 2 me for free.i really feel for him poor thing.thing is iv already got 1 lame horse dont really want another but am uncertain of his future..

Do you know what the lump is? If it is treatable and he will be sound in due course then it is worth giving him a chance. If not then I wouldn't want to take on someone else's problem.

If you really like him, regardless of whether you could have him for free or not, I would have a vet take a look before you make any decisions.

My friend got given a free horse the other week, she had it vetted and it had all sorts of things wrong with him, so she had to send him back.
