I have created a forum account so that I can ask for some help. The company I work for is possibly looking to sponsor some riders next year (2009) and I need to come up with some names for them to follow through this season. I have so far found dressage, showjumper and showing riders, but when it comes to eventing I am rather stuck. I have no knowledge at all of eventing other than watching it on tv. I have looked into some more high profile riders, but most seem to have sponsors already.

My question would be, can anyone recommend an up and coming eventing star, either junior or senior. They must already have a good record at BE with some points, and be planning to compete a lot, certainly of the standard that would potentially make them an international competitor.

The company I work for is in the higher echelons of the FTSE 100, and sponsorship would go a long way. We are mainly interested in potential - riders who will reach international standard in the next few years with our help.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions.

I would be willing

you could look at the pony clubs at open level to see some juniors coming through, as the top junior with 2 gold medals was champ at the champs twice in a row

What about Sharon Hunt - on seniors teams (Tankers Town - 11th at Aachen last year) - have a look at her BE record as think she's been a "go it alone / family supported" sort who may very well welcome help. From the BE website it looks like she might have a few novice/intermediate types coming along for the following years.

Just wanted to add that I will not be able to check messages etc for several days as I will be away at a conference, but please don't worry if I haven't had a chance to contact you yet - I will send messages to everyone who has taken the time to contact me. Thank you again for all your help.

Can I suggest Charlotte Baillie? Featured in H and H recently on her best horse, Mr Deep, sadly now no more following op.
She was offered an advanced horse recently but no funds. She is on the YR fast track prog but desperately needs sponsorship to fulfil undoubted potential. 20, articulate and personable. wd be a good ambassador for sport and sponsor.

I have just returned from a work trip, am thoroughly exhausted but thank you to everyone who has given me suggestions. I have briefly read through messages, but will have a closer look at them tomorrow when I am a bit more with it. Thanks for all the help, and I will contact everyone shortly.
