Help - Feeding Advice Needed!

Hi, I'm new and hoping you can solve my dilemma

I'm just about to move my horses from full livery to DIY - I need to go out and stock up on feed, but no idea what to give them, so I'm hoping some of you knowledgeable people out there might be able to help!
I have a 16.2hh 7year old ISH gelding - he's in about perfect condition but very laid back and a bit lazy! He's ridden 6 days a week and competes most weekends - Novice Eventing and 1m-1.10 show-jumping.
I also have a 9 year old 16hh mare who had a foal in June and lives out in a 10 acre field with the foal at the moment and is very fat, but she's coming in soon and will start to do a bit of work (lunging at first cos she has no topline or muscle along her back - typical broodmare).
The foal will also come in at night during the winter and will probably need to be fed as well??...

it won't come as any suprise but i would recommend winergy equilibrium for loads of reasons. firstly, its really easy to use if you are doing DIY for the first time, its complete so you only need one bag per horse rather than different componenets. from what i've read most of their research is in growing horses so ideal for your mare and foal and also the range is really easy to move within as your horses requirements change over winter. i'd ring or email them and they will do a diet plan for you so all you have to do is go to a shop and buy it.

i'm sure there are lots of different suggestions coming your way but i really think this is not only the most simple but also the healthiest.

Hmmm, cold dark mornings....I'm a bit scared - I'm going to miss the nice indoor arena at the old yard, but I guess I'll just have to stock up on some good waterproof gear!

I'd second the Winergy suggestion, Gee hasn't colic-ed, tied up, or done anything untoward once since being on it, though obviously she is on a different one to what yours would need.

Indoor schools = godsend, i am DIY but wouldn't be without the school here, its so good!

Just changed a horse onto Winergy and the difference has been fantastic! Muscle is piling on and he loves it!

Can you not ask the yard manager where your horses is on full livery what they have been feeding especally if your horses has been doing well on the feed, plus if you decide what there feeding is not what you want to feed you can buy some until you introduce any new feed. So not to upset your horses digestive system.
