Hello to everyone who watched or read the first version of my friend riding my lovely boy, i have now posted a video of me riding him and would love constuctive critisism good and bad just don't be mean please! I am selling my lovely polish warmblood although after today god knows why he felt lovely to ride and looked so handsome, plus lots of kisses and cuddles after, what more could a girl want. Any way please have a look at the new video if you have time and let me know what you think, please bear in mind I am an ametaur event rider who's fist line of work is a full time mummy! Look forward to hearing from you all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhkpZ8LJpsU

I don't know much about dressage, but he is a real head turner. Very handsome

I would say it looks good until you get to your hands at which point as a buyer i would be completely put off. There's a lot of movement in them and they look quite harsh on his mouth, which shows in a very tense neck and him being quite on the forehand.

He's a nice horse though and looks like he really tries.

Im not sure what the vid is for as I missed the first post (not on here very often anymore) but I assume you are using it to see the horse? In my opinion the video should be shorter and tidier as the video allows the buyer to see some flawer/errors that might put them off before they have even met him. Hes a nice sort with clean paces. I find him a bit tense in the head and neck and a little un- yielding through the back during some of the movements- nevertheless he is light in his feet and will do well in dressage but needs to steady/relax his head- if im really honest I think your movement in your hands is unsettling his head and if you soften the hands to go with his movement gently he will soften and relax through the neck. I think he could do with picking up his back (1.47 sec in he looks tense and hollow through the back) Now having said all this - it might seem really harsh- im not - i like him- i think he is lovely and handsome I just feel the video could be edited/re-shot to show only the areas where is working loosly in order to grast the attention of BD riders.

Ouchh!! Didn't think I was that bad especially riding a baby horse with two small children running round the edge of the school or trying to throw things such as their coats in from time to time.

Being a baby horse i would personally rather see him moving freely but not in an outline than held in an outline which is clearly not relaxed and looks more untidy.

You asked for our opinions and we gave it. He's a nice horse but it's not the best way to show him off to potential buyers.

You are right I did ask for peoples opinions but sometimes tact is helpful. Having been to quite a few dressage competitions on him and always getting between 65 and 75% I don't feel we are doing too bad. Trying to video a horse while your children try to assist is not ideal but not having child care on tap it was a neccesity.

The children aren't the problem! He's a nice horse, moves well, but would just suggest tidier hands that move with his movement so he can relax his neck and jaw more. It just makes the video seem a little unprofessional!

Goodluck in selling him - he's very nice!

Tend to agree re.hands (but I would also like to point out that mine are no better!).

If you are using this video as part of the ad, perhaps it'd be a good idea to edit the not so nice bits out? E.g. the canter-walk transition through trot, the bits when he falls behind the vertical etc.

It is a long video, and people tend to lose interest fairly soon. I don't think you need to show the whole 4 minutes and a half - perhaps you could shorten this to 2 minutes and a half, just leaving the very best bits in?

Good luck, he does look lovely.

i watch both your vids and he is a lovely horse as shadowmonkey said shorten the vid and is it me or is he not cantering on both sides ? see u cantering him alot on the left rein but not much on the right rein??? i am no good at this really so forgive me if i wrong. when you next do a shorter vid imagina you have a ball in your hands when holding the reins and dont let him or yourself lose the ball and just hold it. that way keeps your hands still. works for me hope it helps.. and good luck

What a beautiful, beautiful horse. It think it would be nicer to have a tidier vid - but a serious buyer would probably look beyond some of the problems.

Good luck with the selling, really is a smashin animal.
