Hi all,

I'm entering Boyo in the local show.

We're doing tack n' turnout, in-hand M&M and Mini me will be on in lead-rein class and most appealing pony :-).

This is the first ever show and I'm really at a loss of what I'm doing.

Please help. What do we wear? I'm doing one ridden class then will lead nfor the others. Can mini wear jockey lid and silk or does it have be velvet peak? Do you have to wear tweed or can I wear dark show jacket ( I can borrow one)?

Oh heck its only a local show but I'm clueless..

Thanks all for getting this far. Tea and custard creams or jaffa cakes on offer :-D

Skull caps are fine- my sister does county level showing in her skull cap and faded navy silk and only gets compliments on their turnout :)

If it's local, as long as you've tried really hard to be as clean and neat as possible they won't mark you down for wearing the wrong jacket or colour hat or gloves. So wear what you have and enjoy it!

Don't panic. Everyone has been there at least once. Many local show secretaries are happy to help if you give them a call. The most important thing is to look neat and smart. They'll forgive any sartorial errors. A skull cal & silk is fine - you can actually het velvet covers that make it look a bit like a traditionat hat - but you don't have to.

A black jacet or tweed for you is fine - whatever you can borrow. And most, if not all, judges are used to children in jackets a bit too large!

The most important thing is to have fun!
