Tasting pastes that can be spread on a turnout rug to make a rug wrecker think twice

Would cribbox work??gooey and sticky but if it saves the rug

I was thinking along the lines of extra strong chillies etc

Haha I would say Cribbox. A secret- I once smeared Cribbox all over some saplings in a public park that children were gradually tearing down. I figured the Cribbox MIGHT kill the trees but the kids definitely would....the saplings lived!

Cribox will come off in the rain though? wont it!! or if he rolls it will? please dont torchure me if i have that wrong lol i know i wouldnt want to use it

I know some one that put a plastic bag in a horses tail to stop others eating it. Would need bombproof horse tho to attach plastic bag to......

i think she would rip the rug herself to get out of it if i did that

I tried a few but ended up mixing mustard with warm water and putting it in a spray bottle cos it was costing me a fortune. Only problem is you need to reapply it daily as mud and rain just washes it away. Ended up buying a Rambo, little bugger didnt get through that

when it comes to this horse, who by the way has tried to kill me on a few occasions now, i would miss uni and camp out in the field to get it

hydrophane do a crib stop paint thats water resistant, not sure if you can use it on rugs tho, but it stays on the post & rail for ages & smells really bad! Lincoln also do a water resistant one in a thick paste/
would recommend against the mustard as my mare loves it! she may be a little odd tho

I have used both aftershave and swarfega to try and stop mine chewing tails the swarfega worked for a while but is really messy

Citronella oil added to warm water with a dash of Fairy liquid mixed in a 1 litre spray bottle - then sprayed liberally onto outside of rug? Nowt much likes the smell of that stuff! And the smell should last a few days at the least. That, or the Jeyes fluid idea.

You can get a decent size bottle of Citronella oil off eBay. It's where I buy mine
