As en ex-serviceman Paul Hedges the charity Help For Heroes is a cause close to my heart. And being a horse owneras well I have set myself a huge riding challenge - to raise £4000 by treking 200km across Iceland on horseback!

My challenge ride happening next year between 6-13 July 2013 will raise money for deserving people that have been injured serving their country and with a target of £4000 to hit I need the equestrian community to dig deep and get behind me.

The challenge will take place over eight days and seven nights from start to finish so it’s not exactly a sight seeing tour!
I know that we are not in the best climate to be asking people for money but these are not just ordinary people that I am raising the money for

If anyone would like to help me hit his target and support this fantastic cause please visit www.justgiving.com/PaulHFHTrek now to donate.

Thank you for your time and hopefully your support

Good luck! When i get a min and can wrestle our bank card from out of my husbands tightly clamped wallet I will make a donation. :D I support our troops through the Adopt A British Squaddie but am always keen to also support anything to do with Help for Heroes. We have chaps in our family currently serving in the armed forces and I know what a brilliant job - and huge sacrifices - you chaps make, so thank you for that too!xxx

Sorry I'm confused, which is normal for me,do I have to donate now, always thought it was after they had done the event and you pledged how much money you would give, that is why I always pay by cheque, as I don't like having to many cards in my purse.

As you can see with the HFH website
http://helpforheroes.org.uk/challenges-2013-iceland_horse_trek.html

I am actually going to be fund raising until next Sept to reach my final target.
Of course if I get there earlier or raise more then that is a bonus.

Have just looked at the calendar and in 52 weeks time I shall be starting off on the first ride of the week!!

To all those that have given their support I thank you

And for those wanting to pay by cheque I am talking to HFH to find out how this can be done.

Thanks again

Paul

For anyone who would prefer to send a cheque this is the official answer from H4H

That’s no problem at all, they can send us a cheque directly. They will need to include a note with their cheque stating your full name, the name of your challenge and your reference number, and they can send it into our Donations team and it will be allocated to your total.

thanks for the bump

I did have an idea for fundraising over the weekend.

I was thinking about offering tack cleaning days to local yards.
We all hate cleaning it but is has to be done.
If I as to clean your tack what would be a good donation?

Anyone with any ideas?
