Can any recommend a good stain remover for my white horse who seems to have a habit of using his droppings as a pillow? There is so much choice and need some feedback.
I will second this post - either that or can anyone recommend a black hair dye that comes in bulk to cover a whole horse? (of course I am only joking and would never put hair dye on my horse)
I'd recommend something called 'Total Groom' (not sure who makes it) i've used it during the winter when its been too cold to bath (admitedly on a chestnut) and it worked wonders, but my friend with a very white piebald and it did the job on his white bits.
being new to having a skewbald (with lots of white) what can i use to get an off white/yellowy tail to white?
The other thing I swear by is White n' bright shampoo, it is fantastic stuff, obviously you would have to wet the area you wanted to clean though and wash it off but it really is fab.
Another IDxhippo owner recommending cowboy magic. If mine wasn't lame at the moment I'd consider selling the filthy b****r, but would only have to get him clean to do that! My YO swears by Persil non-bio, (has to be persil apparently) but you have to do a patch test forst and wash it off straight away - not sure if it's wise to use it on a face though. I haven't been driven to that quite yet, I just let him go places a bit beige instead!
Wahl Dirty Beastie shampoo is good as well but use it neat on a coat that's soaked through, rather than diluting it as the instructions say. Then scrub the area with a rubber mitten before rinsing off.
I have a big grey hippo too! Another vote for Bright and White shampoo - I keep on top of the worst by using a slosh wash after riding and use steradent to pre soak a grey tail - shifts the worst of the stains followed by the B&W shampoo!!
