I have just been down to poo pick my ponies field and found about a dozen small potatoes in the field, don't know how they got there, but I am thinking that someone must have thrown them over the fence, although they were all close together so they must be a good shot!
But I am now in a panic worrying if the ponies have eaten some already......not sure what to do.......any advice please?

Put a sign up, something along the lines of 'Please do not feed the horses you could make them ill' etc, secondly if you catch someone throwing food to the horses have a kind but firm word, sometimes people do not realise the harm they could do. Keep an eye on your horses for anything wrong or if you are worried phone your vet for advice.

A cycle track runs next to one of our fields and when I went down there one day, there were some people feeding the horses cakes, biscuits and sarnies despite the fact that we have signs up asking people not to feed the horses. We've fenced off the gateway now so the horses can't get up there to be fed rubbish!

Try not to worry too much, horses don't tend to munch on spuds :)
