Please help me!

I am after 7 day full livery (everything apart from exercise) in Bexley/Sidcup/Swanley/Chislehurst or surrounding areas. Chelsfield and Bromley are too far to give you a good idea of the areas I'm looking at.

I've rung up farriers and instructors in the area and they've all pretty much said they don't know any they would recommend

Someone on here must know of somewhere?

Thank you in advance!!

Nice! I hope that doesn't include my farrier and instructor!!!!!

Taylors and Chase Park off Bunkers Hill in Bexley. There's one in Chislehurst I've heard good things about from a friend but cannot think of the name.

Haha I know!! I thought that was an excellent first step to finding a yard! They shot me down pretty quick :(

Will arrange to look at Taylors then, thank you and do you have a contact number for Chase Park please?

Many years ago I was on a livery yard on bunkers hill, very very nice place then, and fantastic riding was up there.

Did it have a name? Maybe it's still running?

I think I might just have a little drive along Bunkers Hill and Parsonage Lane as according to Google maps there's a few along there

No sorry that was twenty odd years ago, there are a few places up there, memory serves me correct it was at the top of Bunkers hill.Worth having a drive up there.

There is also Forest View. As you get to the end of Bunkers (Parsonage road end) turn left along an unmade track. Forest View is on your left and there is another one on the righ too Park House or something.

No Number for Chase Park I'm afraid but if you drove past at the weekend hopefully there will be someone there.

Oh yes and the one in Chislehurst is Kemnal (sp) but again no number form that I'm afraid.

Good Luck

Park House only does 5 day livery :( and I didn't like Kemnal, not the sort of thing I'm looking for.

Will definitely have a drive around though, thank you

Have a look on:

http://www.frogpool.com/classified/cat/liveries

and

http://trfrolics.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=esoffered

Both cover a larger area of NW Kent but both have livery adverts up for yards in your chosen area if you flick through.

The yard at the top of Bunkers (right on the bend) is Taylors. You also have various others round Bunkers/Parsonage (Chase Park etc), or the other option is coming along Stable Lane from Bexley village where you have Old Bexley, Slades, some smaller yards, then Mascals and finally Shannon Leigh right at the end.

You also have a fair few around Swanley / Hextable - Old Mill etc

depends what you are looking for but i wouldnt really recommend any either !!

Well run by knowledgeable and caring staff
floodlit sandschool at least 20x40 (although 20x40 is a bit small tbh)
at least a few show jumps
hacking, don't mind some road work
good summer grazing, if the winter grazing isn't brilliant that's okay
no children/immature teenagers if i can help it :o
turnout in small groups, mares and geldings split
and then preferably a yard where the other liveries aren't the type to hang around or loiter on the yard all day b*tching!!

That is the absolute minimum I can cut my requirements down to

Thank you for your reply, have had a look on those websites but I've either already tried them or they're too far.

What yards are there in Swanley/Hextable? I've not really ventured that way yet, only considered Honeydale and Timbertops, which are both not what I'm after

why is chelsfield too far it is only 10 mins max from bexley and you have a lot more nicer yards !

Chelsfield station is just under 20minutes from where I am (driving)

It's not that Chelsfield is too far for me to drive to, where my horse is currently kept I have a 20minute drive, I'm just looking to move closer, so obviously it's pointless moving somewhere that would still have a 20 minute drive, because I'm happy where I am now anyway :)

www.oldmillec.co.uk is in Swanley, and if you then drive around that area you will find quite a few different yards.

What about Homewood in Bexley? I think they offer full livery.

If you can say (PM if you prefer) what was wrong with some you have looked at it can give me more of an idea to recommend something suitable as that is the area I am in.

I was going to say The Old Mill, too. Bexley has a couple of large ones that I can't for the life of me remember the names off - they're in the centre of Bexley village, driving in from the A2. Sorry, that's a bit vague!

Taylors is quite nice, would be warey of the people, and they use the mount mascal staff who are sometimes children/unqualifeid and do not know your horse.

Old Mill seems lovely and reasonably priced.

Frogpool manor, but not much hacking. Speedgate is a nice yard, not quite in area but not too far either.

Kemnal Manor in chislehurst perhaps?

At the bottom of Speedgate Hill, turn left on the Fawkham Road and immediately on the other side of the road there is White House Stables. I don't know if they have space, but they do full livery. They have a nice arena and you just hack up the hill to get on to the Speedgate Ride. Speedgate is OK as well, but the fields can get a bit crowded and there can be ver restricted turnout in winter.
I don't think the hacking is good from The Old Mill, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I drive that way regularly and I wouldn't want to ride there.

You wont find what you want in the areas specified. I only know of 2 full livery yards in that area I would put my horse at and they are both in Chelsfield. There is a HUGE lack of decent full livery yards in the SE/Kent area as in none IMO.

also you say no kids so taylors and kemnal are ruled out !!

chase Park is very nice though not a lot of grazing

My options are just getting smaller and smaller! I think I'll end up staying where I am... it just would have been nice to find somewhere local!

I've been told now though that at Taylors you can only use MM instructors and the horses all go out in a big herd so I'd ruled that one out (even more now you've mentioned about lots of kids :p)

ETA: do you have a contact number for chase park?

I went to Chase Park last Saturday and it definitely wasn't empty.

Also re the kids at yards, if you are an adult like me and go there after work, 6:30-7pm you have the yard to yourself as they have all gone home! Result :o)
