Peppermint oil can deter them. Do you leave him with filled
kongs etc while your out? I fill mine with fishpaste then freeze them. These last ages.
Could it also be something is scaring him and making him stressed?

I don t like leaving food when they are together as gem gets very protective over her food, perhaps something did scare him I can t think what as its very quite were we are i hate the thought of him being upset when im out ive got to work tomorrow morning as well so will be interresting how he is tomorrow.

Try leaving the radio on loud....if he does not normally display this behaviour, then something could have scared him as foxyfilly suggests......maybe try a dap diffuser or introducing a crate...so that u can leave treats without worrying they may fight over them.
