i bought a tub of stockholm tar to use to prevent thrush(have one with deep frogs and farrier said he may be prone to it so prevention is better than cure etc)
tar came in a useful looking tub and i planned to use a hoof-oil brush to apply it.
but, inside the tub the tar is in a plastic bag and it is really runny and after using it twice it has turned into a big gunky mess and today OH managed to get it on outside of tub and handle of the brush

so,what do all you folks do?
do you think i could freeze it and scrape it into another (clean)pot?

I used Stockholm tar on my TBs terrible hooves and it did an amazing job of strengthening and conditioning them BUT I'm afraid you just have to learn to live with the horrible, sticky mess as it really does get everywhere no matter what you do!

Try heating it up. It should go runny enough to be pourable. Just be very very careful you don't burn yourself!

You could maybe pour it into a sqeezy bottle with a suitable wide-bore nozzle? That would cause as little mess as possible.
