ME:
Cream Jods,
Brown Tweed Jacket
Hat (black)
White shirt
sky blue tie
Sky blue hair scrunchie
jod boots
black gloves

Horse:
black numnah
black tack
black sholder whip
plaited

So thats wat i was planning to wear, is this correct ?, please post piccies of you doing it, thanks !!! xxxx

I reckon that sounds good, are you under 16? I believe its Jophur boots for under 16, and long boots for over! The only thing I'd change is the shirt, I'd wear a cream/light canary colour, and I'd wear brown gloves instead of black, but if it's only local then they're not usually too picky! Good Luck :)

Hi.
In my limited experience, its best not to wear a numnah. The judge may ask you to remove it.
Plaits are great- 11 plaits on the mane + 1 on the forelock for a mare, or 12 + 1 on the forelock for gelding or stallion- or 7 + 1 in the forelock as that is what is required when hunting.
Black gloves are great- but some judges are real sticklers and stipulate they are to be worn only if in mourning. Brown is pretty safe.
Tweed jacket is perfect, and jod boots.
Good luck, and knock em dead x

In an ideal world you'd want to make the following changes to your turnout, as there are a few things that would look more professional. I stress, however, that what you have planned to wear will be perfectly fine at local level, especially if you work hard at making sure everything is neat and spotless. If you end up wanting to do more serious working hunter classes, then you can slowly replace your outfit to make it more in line with what the professionals wear.

Cream Jods, - thats fine, you could also wear canary or pale yellow
Brown Tweed Jacket - brown is great, and green or mustard are also appropriate
Hat (black) - ideally if you do start to do this seriously, brown, green or navy to tone with the rest of your outfit would be better.
White shirt - ideally a pale coloured shirt (cream, yellow or blue are the most popular) or a white shirt with coloured stipes
sky blue tie - perfect! any colour that tones in with your outfit is fine, except black
Sky blue hair scrunchie - If you are over 16 loose the scrunchie entirely and go for a plain neat bun
jod boots - perfect! brown is more 'correct' than black if you do decide to continue doing this
black gloves - brown would be better

Horse:
black numnah - if you can, loose the numnah all together. If not make sure it's as tiny as possible
black tack - brown is traditionally more correct, but black's fine for local level
black sholder whip - again brown is more traditional but the black will be fine
plaited - as long as you arn't doing mountain and moorland workers then yeap!

Just to reassure you, I used to show all the time in in a black hat, white shirt, black tie, black jacket, black gloves and black jodphur boots and still placed well at local level. The judges won't be too picky about your outfit as long as it is clean and neat.

And since you asked, this is my sister's outfit for mountain and moorland working hunter. She's chosen to go very work-man like in muted browns and yellows:

Right, thanks for your help, I have the chance to go up the tack shop and change some things, eiter black gloves, black whip, or I could buy a navy hat cover Or all three lol, but if i could only buy one what one shall i choose ? Thanks

Hatcover if you are wearing a crash skull, and gloves. The whip will match the tack.

Personally, I think I would change the tie from sky blue to something a bit darker, red or green.... Something a bit more workman like. And the scrunchie to brown, if you must have one.
