Know its a wierd post & my Doctor would kill me for googling symptoms BUT I am tender under the left side of my rib cage, and everytime I cough it hurts like hell! Now over past few days have really been working my core area when riding & think its as a result of this!! Its DAMN painful - no point going to Doc if it will rectify itself in couple of days... Just wondering if anyone has every done this?

It's more likely to be a strain in the attachment of the abdominal muscles. When you palpate the movement of the diaphragm you are feeling through the abdominal musculature so tenderness there will sometimes feel like tenderness in the diaphragm. The diaphragm shouldn't be doing any significant work with core work beyond continuing to draw air in and out of your lungs. Unless you're doing serious amounts of breath-holding that is ;)

Not diaphragm but it would appear I've sprained a muscle in my groin, did it one day last week but its taken a turn for the worst after my lesson, which focussed on riding with your seat. I'm hoping that goes away soon, and now hope yours does too!

Thanks popstar! Reckon that's what I've done so as not a breath holder:) bloody sore! Hope it clears in couple days, its bloody painful and meant to be going hunting on wed -
