HELP: has anyone LOST their horse!!!!

This morning whilst turning Teddy out and sorting Marley out and poo picking a Grey (white) horse appeared in the fields next to our yards fields. he/she came galloping over to the first field of horses and i didnt have time to get from my field to where it was before it turned and galloped off

my concern is from where this horse was it could go through fields for miles. it wasnt a horse i recognised but here goes lets hope someone knows

Roughly 16-16.2hh, completely white, full mane and tail, quite a full build, possibly warmblood or ID maybe? certainly bigger in build than my ISH any more than that i cant really say

I hope whoever he is finds him then!

Maybe leave some feed out over night in that field if he's still about? Might be able to catch him then if he appears wanting feed again...if he's not been caught already :)
 
If it were me and I had the time I would be going round peoples houses who have the horses, sticking things on here, other forums and getting all my friends on FB to put it as my status! Of course if your at work then you cant really do any of that! x

If it were me I would ring the local police and let them know where the horse was last seen and when.

My shetties had a habbit of breaking out and going for a wander looking for A for about 2 months after he was PTS. The first thing I did each time they had gone was to ring the police with the field address and give them my mobile then go looking! They were found on various yards checking to see if the horses there might be their old pal. Poor P was left on his own while they went on their mission!

The police were fantastic the last time it happened, I had some poor woman on the 999 line calling me back with sightings and was rushing round like mad trying to get to them before they moved on again. Thankfully they are very good and come to my call so with their help I was able to get to the right spot to shout. One had become stuck in a garden after pushing through a gate and the other was down a road else where.

They haven't been any trouble since they got used to one of the herd being missing but those couple of months were a nightmare. Didn't matter what I did B would find a way out and C would follow.

But a loose horse that is strange call the police straight away. Its poor owner was probably going frantic.
 
I would let the police know. My pony took herself for a walk afew times, we usually found her the same day but we had no luck finding her once, the police were excellent with us and we tracked her down 5 days later, my not so lovely neighbour had found her and stabled her (stables completey hidden from view), he had called the police and asked for her to be put down!!

I was 14 when this all happened and the pony was a very stressy horse, the police were brill with me and my family and had a word with the neighbour. My dad also had a 'word' with him!

I have also had random horses turn up in my field, no idea who they belonged to. It was in the middle of winter so I gave them hay and went off to school. At school I told my friends about it and by the end of the day we knew who the horses belonged to!
 
Phone the police immediately so that they are aware there is a loose horse in case the owner rings them. You don't want the horse becoming injured or running in to a motorist.

We have had a number of incidents where thieves have released stolen horses which everyone has assumed is a local horse that had escaped but ended up coming from another part of the country.
 
walked around asking this morning with no good outcome, have passed onto YM who has informed horsewatch and i believe the police too

who knows pony may have taken itself home and we just dont know fingers crossed
 
could be a long shot,but as well as police,contact local feed/hay merchants they may no of someone that has a horse of that description. Or local tack shop. Any things worth a try.
