Help Hay needed Herts

Hello - wanting/needing to buy some hay off the field i have had quotes of £6 - £8 a bale so far!!

Help can anyone help me? Know of any good suppliers?

Looking for up to 300 bales... phoned about 10 people but their prices are crazy!!!!!!

Herts was not particularly good for hay this year due to very dry weather. However there is plenty of hay around and it may be cheaper to buy it in from Devon or Yorkshire.

I am in Herts too and I think as we did have dry weather initially the ££ are in the farmers eyes I have heard £8 and £10 before it was even cut! I really thought it was going to be awful. Now I am hearing of second cuts due to the rain etc so perhaps a bit cheeky?? It looked dire but I dont think it is anymore.

Try somewhere up towards norfolk wisbech?? Sales of Sandon which I wouldnt even ever dream of going to due to expensive hay were actually quite reasonable in the spring(I overheard a price of £7 per bale but it depends on volume) may be worth giving them a bell...hay is being cut around North Herts Baldock way.
