I'm running out of hay and my usual supplier has just told me that he is doubling his prices to £4 per bale

Does anyone know if I can get some anywhere cheaper?

We can collect and ideally I need as much as 100 bales to get us through this winter.

Thanks

Its a common thing now im affraid, everyone is running short because of this cold snap and with everyone turning on their suppliers who are also running low the price will go up, for good quailty hay you will be expected to pay £3 a bale.

Try local feed shops for adverts etc or local newspaper or agricultural magazines etc.

Im going to blame the weather again!!! Didnt help back in summer that people (us included) couldnt cut hay june/july time because of the wet horrible weather, when it did get cut (september) it was past its best, hardly anything on it.

Where abouts in Kent are you? I know someone who does the larger bales at a good price and have a couple of names and numbers for possibly getting smaller bales but would need to be fairly local to my area.

I went to a big commercial hay and straw sale this week and small bale hay was making between £3.50 and £3.90 per bale (bought by merchants) in lots of 500 - 1000 bales, this price was collected from the farms in East Anglia
