I was picking my horses feet out today and noticed that there is heat at the top of 3 of his hooves by the coronet band. his right front one is cold. He is not lame at all and dont think its signs of laminitas because hes slightly underweight and quite a poor doer, with not much grass. help please!! Ive never had this before do you think its something i should call the vet for?

No, you don't need the vet. Alot of the time, heat in a foot with no other symptoms means nothing at all. tomorrow the other foot might be hot or both or neither !

Oh thank god! Thank you, i panic to easily, called the vet out for a splint last month and all he needed was his leg hosed

I was in a panic a few weeks ago as G had 2 opposite hot hooves and the other 2 were cold!!

I kept checking and later they were all cold again. Sometimes just 1 of them is warm, sometimes 2 and sometimes none.

I put it down to him being Irish
