Help! Horse has started sweating loads - Nupafeed?

My horse has suddenly started sweating a huge amount more when working. The only difference I can think of in terms of diet is that he now gets no sugarbeet and has been on the loading dose for NupaFeed calmer for 10 days.

Anyone had this reaction? It seems very strange. I have spoken to NupaFeed and they have never heard of it before. Any other thoughts at all on what could be causing it?

Huge growth of coat? New saddle pad? Harder work. Um. Runnig out of ideas... We've taken six horses/ponies throught he Nupafeed loading doses and not had any problems (and that was in the summer). Hope you find the answer soon - have you asked the vet?

Hi MrsMozart, thanks for replying.

I actually just had NupaFeed call me back - they had spoken to the Royal Veterinary College, and they said it was because he is on the high loading dose and is getting too much magnesium - and rather than just getting rid of this in the urine, it is being released through his sweat glands (which is apparently unusual but not unheard of) - It is not dangerous, but I need to cut the loading dose right down to a small amount every day.
