We baled our hay last week. The last few bales were a bit rushed and now some of them (4) are getting hot and going mouldy. Has any one had experience of this? I presume we need to take out the hot bales - but will it all be ruined?
Advice, please.

If they are going mouldy and not just getting warm remove those and try and get air to circulate round the rest, it may mean pulling some out until they cool, even opening up any suspect ones but in the long run it will be worth it if you can save the rest.

Be careful if they get too hot they will ignite. Remove the ones that are mouldy open up the hot ones and let air circulate round the rest.
This is why we made haylage as would have been rushing for hay
