Hi
I have just bought a trailer - knowing that my mare has travelled in one before but possibly not for at least 3 years. she is fine in a horsebox.
She will walk up the ramp fine but once she is inside she seems to panics and reverses out - she keeps her front feet on ramp. I have opened the front ramp and just walked her through - she is fine and calm as anything. i have done this quite a few times however as soon as you try to make her stand she just goes backwards. The trailer is high enough - light and airy. She does not seem stressed and i am not sure if she is being a but naughty or is genuinely scared. i have tried to feed her in and she just wont stand still.
Any ideas?

No - the partition folds in at the back and the front anyway so it is not like the rigid ones.
I had thought of that and will try it although she would not be able to travel like that as i do not have a single breast or breech bar
Thanks
xx

Hmm, if the partitions are on a post that they pivot off, the post should be able to be removed, unless you have an ancient trailer of course. I appreciate you can't travel her without the breast bar but you can buy them, they are not massively expensive, depends if you think it's worth trying or not. Apart from that, no other suggestions sorry.

Not too ancient only 10 years old.

Will give it a go and see if i can gain her confidence with no partition - if it works i will just have to get the full width bars - think they are arounf £70 plus VAT.

Thanks for suggestions
