I was a total tube the other night and as other jods were in wash I wore my new beige ones to the stables, and I managed to get Effol Hoof Ointment smeared on them

I have used some stuff to try and get it out, and washed them in Daz, but there are still black marks !!

I've been told WD40 would work, but as they have been washed I am guessing its NOT greasy any more, and its the actual colour! So much for these jods being Scotchguarded!

Does anyone else have any tips?? I have managed to get the stuff out my tesco and other jods no probs before

Try Vanish? Get the stick one, damp the stain and lather it on and massage into the stain then wash. Fingers crossed!

Don't know about effect it has on hoof oil but I have found good results with oxy action by vanish with other stubborn stains.

Belive it or not Dove soap removes most stains including first hand experience of red wine from carpet, cranberry juice from table cloth and grease from white johds! (God knows what it does to your skin!)

Fairy liquid and scrub like mad. Grease/oil will always be removed by soap. I got grease from my trailer tow hitch on my white breeches the other week and it took it straight out. My Mum used to be a housekeeper for a proper hunting family and she even cleaned their (expensive) suede chaps in fairy liquid and they came up like a dream!! No alternatives - fairy it must be!!!!
