Help how to fit Liveryman Harmony Plus blades

I have a new set of Liveryman Harmony Plus Clippers. However I've never clipped before. Having taken off the snap-on blades to have a look, I can't get them back on again. Can anyone explain this simply to a numpty like me? Thanks

I have these clippers...I find it really hard! You'll see on the clippers there is a little arm in the centre of where the blades are going. You need to try to lift that arm up- I find a knife or a key works quite well! Then, once you've wedged it up you should be able to slide the blades onto it.

My 'clipper man' demonstrated similar with my Arico clippers the other day

he used a flat ended screwdriver to lift up the arm, plugged in the clippers and switched them on then dropped the blades on to the arm and snapped it shut. I don't know why he did it with the clippers on but he crossed the room to find a plug socket to do it so I would imagine its relevant in some way!
 
I had this problem with the same clippers. After I'd used them a few times and levered the blade on with a knife, they loosened and I'm now able to pull the spring thing up. Tricky at first though!
 
Yep, slotted screwdriver or similar! Don't use an essential key just in case though! Turn the clipper on and snap the blade back down. Easiest thing to do is not to close the hinge when you take the blade off - leave it open for next time. Also, when you take the blade off, make sure you push the latch in otherwise the latch will snap and won't hold blades properly without repair.
 
I have these, very easy the clip on! Push up the little black lever and pull the blades away from the clippers, this opens the slot and then refit. there is a youtube video just go on there!
 
With any of these "Cassette" type blades, always put them on to the machine with it running. This enables the drive arm to locate correctly in the drive hole of the cutter blade and avoids excess wear and possible damage to the drive arm and latch. As a further tip, never leave your machine with the blades attached for a long time in storage and then turn them on! The blades often stick together when left unused for a period and this can damage your machine. Before you use the blades, slide from left to right before fitting to ensure they move correctly.
 
Excellent advise on seized blades TheEngineer, have seen many a burnt out motor where folk have left a blade on the clipper, the blade seizes and to top it off the customer leaves the motor on thinking it will eventually run - quick way to wreck a motor!
