HELP! I found ants in my horse's bedding - how to get rid of them?

Hey there everyone!

I could really use some help. This morning, while I was mucking out I noticed that there's a bunch of ants in one corner of my horse's bedding.

I need advice on how to get rid of them safely because my horse is really sensitive (and eats his bedding) Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Clean and disturb the bedding everyday and the ants won’t like it and move along.

Nippon ant powder has moved them from my back door area. Put it down when the horse is turned out and sweep up when horse comes in.

If you have rubber matting ants might be nesting under there. You might be seeing them come out from there into the bedding, so check and treat under the mats if you have them.

I have a pile of rubber mats stacked outside, and there’s often ants nesting between them when i come to use them.
