Poppy, my 4yo mare, is dragging her hind legs. She drags them both and she has done it for at least 4 months (Ive owned her for 4 months and saw it when lunging her a few days after buying her). She does it when being ridden and lunged both in the sand school and in the feild, but i dont know if she does it on the roads as I havent been out, but I dont think she does because i hacked her along a road when I went to see her and neither me or my mum noticed it. She is very laid back, lazy even. I searched it on google and it comes up about back problems and bone spavin. It has really worried me. Would she still kick if she had bone spavin? she is always kicking the stable wall.

Ive tried trotting poles, they confuse her, but she does do them. She goes over jumps (in the stepping over 1....2....3....4 way) and she manages not to knock them down. She is very lazy, you have to squeeze constantly to get her to move.

Sounds exactly like my girl!! 4 yo, bone idle and dragging hind toes.
Don't want to worry you but would recommend you take her for X rays.
I spent 6 months (!!!) with various back people, vets, saddlers and finally took her for hock x rays thinking it's probably a spavin.... Turned out to be wobblers!!

Hopefully it'll be something less serious for your girl but believe me, you are better off taking her to the vets to do all the tests, at least you will find the cause, rather than just treat the symptons.
