All for my horsey. In about 6 months or so my friend is unlikey to have Baron on part loan any more as she is hoping to have a baby. Ive been worrying about the cost of keeping him to myself. But ive figured if I give up my 20 a day habbit then that will cover more than what my mate gives me each week.

This way I can either keep my horse to myself or keep the horsebox, either way I will benefit so much. I definatly love my horse more than my fags so lets hope it works this time round

Good luck! I quit 7 years ago now, the way I coped was I decided to stop, and just threw the packet away and refused to buy more. Don't try and cut down, it doesn't work!! If you need support, just holler!!

If you need something to do with your hands or mouth, try pistachio nuts! You have to shell them before you eat them which helps!!

Def echo that - I gave up 20-30 a day and I just stopped. That was 4 years ago. You can do it

I did cut down to 10 a while ago but then I just crept back up. I saved one for this morning after breakfast then put the patch on. I have no more and I have also left my money and cash card at home.

At least I cant smoke in pubs and restaurants now which helps. I will be glad come the winter as I wont have to stand outside freezing to death for a fag.

Oh I so hope I can do it, im getting more determined the more I think about it

Aww good luck just try and stay as positive as you can and just think of all the benefits you will gain by not smoking not least of which extra cash to spend on whatever you like

oh me to me to !!! well im trying these tablets im only 3 days in and your suppose to give up between day 8 and 14 !!!

both me and my mum are doing it together for support !!

Thats great news - congratulations, I know its hard (been there myself) but trust me, you'll feel the benefits on your health and your pocket soon enough. Keeping your horse is far better than puffing away!
Good luck and stick at it!

You CAN do it! You have to want to, but after a little while it does get easier and easier. I got fed up with coughing my guts up every morning and spending sooo much money on them, smelling like an ash tray, yellow fingernails, yuk!!!

I can't stand the smell of them now, it makes me feel ill - I hate it when people smoke near me as I get paranoid about the smoke drifting into my lungs after I've worked so hard to clean them!

When my OH stopped smoking he said the most important thing was not to think you were giving up something nice but to concentrate on all the bad things about cigarettes. Write a list of all the negatives and have it to hand to look at if you're tempted.
The two main benefits will be your health - you'll live longer to enjoy your horses - and loads of money!!

Congrats and good luck!

I gave up over 5 years ago, just going cold turkey. I mostly used to miss it when we went to the pub, but with the ban, I don't any longer

I just think of that lovely money I'm saving!

It IS hard work, but it is oh so worth it. No more wheezing, no more having to go outside in the middle of February to have one.

Now if I could only give up the chocolate
