It's been two years since I last rode, due to surgery etc. and my kit is in a lot worse of a state then I remember it being. Everything bar boots & chaps has gone in the bin, so I need to replace the rest of it.
Soo . .

1. Where can I get jods for short people from?
My inseam is 27/28, so for a change, I'd actually like a pair that doesn't have two-tonne of extra material.

2. What are good boots for riding/mucking out etc that are actually waterproof or aren't going to fall apart within a week?

3. I need a new hat. It's spent the last 2 and a bit years in the garage being chucked around and it has had some big falls, so I need to replace it.
I think most peoples heads are round, and minds an oblong-ish shape? Or it's the other way round, but either way, I want a hat that isn't going to perch on my head and make me look like a martian :p

I'm a cheap-wad, so sales etc. would be good, but I'd rather spend a bit more on things that are going to last then pick up something cheap :)

Help please? :)

Regarding jods, being a tad on the short side I just take a scissors to the bottom of the leg, jods do not seem to fray so you don't even need to hem. Nobody can see when you are wearing your boots & when wearing a shoe/boot pull your socks over the cufff. I think Muck boots will do both jobs for you of a cheaper option would be Stylo boots. both are waterproof & easy clean.

Thank you :D

I'll look into stylo boots, haven't heard of them before :)

I did used to chop the ends off, but I wanted to see if there were short ones, I always feel bad buying a new pair and cutting off 3+ inches :o
I don't think my parents appreciated it either :p

Hat-wise, I think it'd be best if I went into a shop and tried different types/brands etc. but I don't know of any round here like that, the only one I can think of have one brand, which is what my old hat is :S

Thanks for the jods rec. I'll have a look at them too :)

HI, I also have 27" inside leg ! - gorringe do some styles in short . love love love my new cord breeches. so comfy. also find lots of breeches with full seat reach to jod length on me and as full seat dont have the knee patch round my ankles. Ariats are my best ever boots but pricey and long version too high up my leg - muck boots were great. if looking for half chaps - Tuffa suede one do ace range of sizes for the shorted legged. Enjoy your return to riding !!
