My friend bought a horse at the start of this year a 14.3hh coloured mare who's evelen years old and in my opinion she has never looked right in the back end but she passed a 5* vetting other than the vet saying that she has a strange stance that would not affect her. Over the last week or so when she is ridden her back end looks extremly stiff and with one of her legs she is taking longer strides than with the other. When she is first ridden she just looks slightly stiff but when she goes into a trot it gets worse and the striding is also affected and she nodds her head when she uses her back end.

There is no heat at all in her back end at all and no pain when you feel over the area. She has also previously had 2 foals.

I was wondering if it could possibly be arthritus????
anyone have a similar experiance or may know what this may be? thanks

yeah my friends horse is suffering with the same thing at the moment, she called a back specialist out, where they found out she had popped her pelvis out of place, hence why your horse is taking one stride longer than the other because the side that she is shorter on is proberly the side her pelvis has come out... that could be a possibilty???
