Our section b filly is on restricted grazing to avoid her getting laminitis, have had no problems all summer and she lives out 24/7.

Now, she's always been a little bit footy on the track up to the stables cos it's quite stony. However, she was super tender on all four feet this morning when I brought her in!

Theres no heat / digital pulse to speak of - could we be talking laminitis or am I just being paranoid.

She's perfectly sound in the field.......

Have got farrier coming this afternoon to put a shoe back on (but he's quite grumpy and don't want to bother him if I'm just being silly

Thats a bit of a worry if all 4 feet are sore, if it was just the 1 foot that was sore (with the pulled shoe) then it would be a different matter.

To be on the safe side I would keep her in with some soaked hay, and give the vet a call.

Good luck x

Ah right! sorry!!!

When mine had early stages of lami, her feet where not hot, but had a small pulse.

It may not be lami, but better safe than sorry!

Let us know how she goes x

I would get the Vet out or at least have a chat with them ..... I have actually seen that the cut hay field next to mine has gone GREEN overnight, so I would be quite concerned about the Laminitis risk..... I know you are miles away but you cannot be too careful

Any news on your filly?

When Henry came down with LGL, I couldn't find digital pulses and there were no classic laminitis signs. Turned out I was just being crap and the vet had to teach me to find his pulses (oops!). He also showed a very stiff gait, jerky and choppy, like he was really arthritic. I was paranoid about ringbone and even asked for X-rays, but they showed a fab set of bones, so it's just the lami.
