Sorry, this might get quite long! My very best friend and I have been on the same yard for 8 years. We help each other out, cry on each others shoulders, go out together, ride together - you get the picture. Last November I had major surgery and she looked after my baby horse until christmas, when tragically her Mum died. I ended up having to sell my youngster as I didnt feel it was fair on her as she had so much to deal with, and I couldn't look after him myself because of the op. In March I started to feel better, and my lovely hubby offered to buy me a new horse! Yippeee! So we went horse shopping and I bought a gorgeous 6yr old cob gelding. Now at this point I should mention that I am not a bit brave, and taking on a 6 yr old, even though he's 6 going on 16 he's so laid back, bless him, this was quite a big decision for me, but of course I had my bf to ride with and generally help and do the confidence boosting bit when I needed it! What happens next? I'll tell you - bf's boy who she has had for 7 years, goes inexplicabley lame. We still aren't sure if he is going to get better, but the point of all this is, I would love some company to hack out with, even if its just once or twice a month. Any ideas would be appreciated and I haven't even explained half of it yet, but I had better shut up before everyone falls asleep! Forgot to say I am based in Burton Joyce in Nottingham. Thanks for reading this!

What a shame you're not nearer, ( I'm in Market Harborough)but I'm from Nottm, and Burton Joyce is lovely, great hacking! went to look at a farm for sale there last year at the top of Bridle Lane. Hope you find someone tho.

Thanks for your kind thoughts - we hack around the block on our own, but as I'm not very brave we're not really managing to go further afield lol.

That's a shame, from the top end of Burton Joyce you can hack on bridleways almost to Southwell! my sister in law lives there.

Maybe when we sell up here we will be able to afford to live there ( farm was too expensive for what it was, had another house built virtually on top of it!)

Im in Nottingham but too far from you I think and I dont have my own transport anymore
