Help me buy my first ever pair of clippers!!!

I have finally decided to take the plunge and do my own clipping!! :eek:

All rather exciting :D but I don't know anything about clippers at all!! I have a fairly fine coated WB who is absolutely excellent to clip. I don't mind cordless or lead clippers and would probably be happy with noisier ones if it saved me some money and ticked all the boxes. But want something that is good value for money as I don't have a huge budget. I would like something that has a good lifespan ideally, but I will probably only do 2, max 3 clips a year.

All suggestions very welcome!
 
I clipped my two today and realised that I have had my Heininger Clippers for over 11 years (certainly had them before I had my daughter who is now 10, they could be even older!)

They are still going strong. I have had them serviced every year and they have probably only clipped a maximum of 4 horses twice a year, plus taking off feathers from a cob during the show season but I have had no problems with them.
 
TTT - Fairly low budget. £100 ideally but might be able to stretch to £150. However, am interested to hear about more expensive ones in case I can pick up an ebay bargain for example.

I think ours were just under £200. Lister Star. Some-one from ebay so they were a little cheaper than the shops. Absolutely brilliant. Very easy to use and quiet. I just went onto ebay to try and find his name but found 2 pairs of second hand Lister Stars on there if thats any help. (Wish they had been second hand ones last year!)
 
I have Heininger clippers that work from a leisure battery. BRILLIANT as I can clip anywhere as I don't need a plug and unlike hand held battery ones, they never loose power as you are clipping. I just use the battery from the electric fencing. Seem to remember that I paid £100 for them.
 
I have had my faithful Lister battery cordless clippers for 30 years! They still work really well are very quiet and you can clip anywhere with them without worrying about leads, points and circuit breakers! Can't of course vouch for the modern version but not bad for £50!!!!!!
 
I second Wolseley Swift clippers. They are really robust, I've had mine years & they've never let me down. New they are over your budget but a pair of second hand should be within your budget & for the amount of use you will give them this is pronanly the best option. There are £100 new clippers out there but you may struggle to get parts should they go wrong or need servicing.
