Over the last year or so I’ve been struggling with enthusiasm for the horse malarkey. Ended up with too many horses at home and it just wasn’t for me. Back to one at livery. Feeling positive at the mo.

just wondering what to do with her. She’s rising 6, not been out a great deal but has been well started.

I want to compete, but want it to be fun. I have fairly limited time and want to be realistic. I enjoy jumping mainly and hacking etc. But having said all that I find unaffiliated a bit pointless and like a challenge!! I’ve also hunting / team chased extensively in the past but not really something I fancy right now.

horse is lovely little mare, nothing amazing but I expect would do any discipline to the level I want very easily.

I just want to start loving it again. Any advice? In an ideal world I’d like to event but it’s a lot of time, money and effort!!

I’ve never really done any riding club stuff. Never really into pony club either!

I feel like I either need to pick either BS or BE or just doing a bit of both unaffiliated and enjoying hacking etc.

I have a short term plan of doing some arena eventing and BS on a ticket, then an 80 event at eland lodge in May. I’m all for doing what the horse enjoys so maybe will get more of an idea as the year progresses?

I can relate to that, I‘ve got too many horses at home and in the process of cutting down, and would like to have one on full livery for a change of scene. Will be nice to have some facilities and company, and perhaps I’ll be inspired by the others.

BS would be a good aim as it’s less time consuming than BE. Lots of things to aim for, amateur chaps etc.

I do like my hunting though as it’s fun and social.
