As above, I'm in need of a new bridle as I'm changing from brown tack to black (boo hiss! I prefer brown). Criteria are as follows:

Padding over headpiece
Blingy browband
Cavesson noseband
Black

And it needs to suit my girlies head, she's got a typical TB head, fairly delicate, piccy below. Budget is up to around £400 max, although I wouldn't complain if it was less than that :) Any suggestions out there as I'm not sure what I'm looking for!

Search for Bespoke Browbands on line or on facebook, they can do you a made-to-measure bridle with whatever bells and whistles you want. But be warned you might have a long wait!

I'm in love with gough rolled bridles although there's no prices on their website so may be over your budget

My horse was in a fashion show at the weekend and modelled a beautiful Kieffer bridle with blingy browband was soooo nice was £185 I wanted to buy it but unfortunately didn't have a spare £185 laying around!

My friends horse modelled the Kieffer interchangable magnetic blingy browband which was lush as well not sure how much that was though.

Lovely horse by the way :)

I recently bought an Albion KB (KB=Klaus Balkenhol) with the exact same criteria - padded noseband and poll, cavesson noseband, and you can choose the browband - I chose a bling one - with topaz crystals, the browband is excellent quality, thick and also padded, and long enough that it doesn't cause any pressure on the forehead. The poll also has small cut-out areas in the leather to minimise any pressure on the ears.
I got it from National Saddle Centre online shop, and I was able to order all the pieces in whatever sizes I wanted, to create a custom fit bridle. It did require some to-ing and fro-ing of bits and pieces, but the finished product fits my horse well, it's comfortable, and looks great. Plus, Albion bridles last a long time. I think it cost about £260 including the bling browband.

I have another - a Schockemohle bridle - Kentucky - that I bought for shows - it's stunning - also very bling - it cost about £225. Here is one - http://www.inchs.com/acatalog/Schockemohle_Sports_Bridles.html - I got mine with the white-rimmed noseband and clear crystal browband. It is stunning!

There is one that advertises on BD.. think it's called Wolds bling? They're around the £200 mark I think :0)

Sabre cordoba bridles are stunning! Padding is so soft, leather doesn't fade and leather doesn't stretch. Very good quality and only about £150

I have recently looked and decided on the Elevator. its lovely :D

I've heard several reports of Elevator leather not lasting as well as some others.. afraid I've never had one to say myself, but might be worth invetsigating further before you buy...

I have had two Elevators now, both in black and must admit the colour does fade in the noseband, especially compared to my Kate Negus Padded bridle. Would recommend the KN over the Elevator.

Thanks for all the recommendations :)

I don't know if I looked at the wrong page but bespoke browbands only seemed to do ribbon browbands?

The Dyon bridles are lovely but I really want some bling, I could look at a seperate browband but I'd rather just buy one set if possible.

The gough one's do look gorgeous, but just phoned them to check prices, they're well within price range, but they were rather erm... grumpy and it's kind of put me off them!

The sabre and elevators are nice too, but I've had a sabre cordobra before and it was just a bit too chunky on her and the elevator looks similar.

I like the kieffers and the shockemohle ones though, they're definitly on the shortlist. For some reason I just never quite click with Albion, I don't know why, I know they're some of the best quality just they never match what I want.

Thanks for the compliments on my girlie, she's a proper diva and know's for herself that she's very pretty! Tink101 she's by Young Ern and out of Mossfield if that means anything to you? She was bred to race but not broken to race, she pulls faces like the horse in your avatar too :D

What's anyones thought's on Otto Schumacher quality wise?
