Before I go totally mad - I dont think I'm asking much - a nice safe 15hand plus (altho if 15 hands it must be cobby type as am tall so must be able to take up my length of leg). Must be 100% in traffic (esp tractors and farm traffic) and good to box, shoe, clip, catch, load etc. Gelding preferred - to hack, odd days hunting, school, lessons, rc, a bit of xc/sj & generally enjoy. This is going to be my "forever horse" - so aged under 10 I'd say so we can grow old together. I am finding the search exhausting - we've been to see so many that arent what they say on the tin.

We are an experienced home - and the horse would want for nothing. Own outdoor school (soon to be own indoor too), lovely hacking, daily turnout, company etc. A realistic budget of no more than £4.5 - £5k.

I know how much you all enjoy the search for a neddy - so please, before I slit my wrists!!!

Oh would travel for the right horse although in the North East/Yorkshire would be even better!

Judi Thurloe does nice hunter type thing and she is in yorkshire somewhere I'm sure. Good luck with the search :)

I would try Stubbly Hollow too they do have some nice horses and Patsy was lovely when I called her about a horse I had she remembered it from when she imported it 10 years before and even found me the old file a breeding!

I think it depends what you mean by 'safe'. I defined it as sensible with nervous but competant rider when I bought mine who is totally safe if you are confident but not adverse to being rather ignorant if you aren't! He would other than being occasionally a bit bargey be suitable for all the activities you described and was nothing like 4.5k so they are about..

I'm an agent and source Irish horses for private buyers so could easily find you what you want :) Considerably better value than buying direct from Ireland than an Irish horse that is already imported and is being marketed in the UK ;)

Can provide plenty of references incl some forum members on here - NeverSayNever is one.
