Help....I have now reached the end of my tether. I have to move yards as I have stuck it out for a year at mine and it is going from bad to worse. We have no grazing, no safe fencing and no school. hacking is fab though. I am in south bucks (Beaconsfield) and if anyone has any ideas I would really appreicate it. My horse shares with 2 others but we do not even have any running water and guess which mug fills up three buckets every day for them...
I have been to local shop but nothing on notice board and really need safe hacking. I found a yard but its full and hacking is awful but school is lovely and not sure whether to hold on for it or not. I just cant believe that I am haying my horse in april in the field due no grass.
If anyone can recommend a yard off the beaten track I would be grateful as really searched all the major ones now.

Sorry i don't know anywhere as I am not your area but maybe try googling livery yards etc and see what comes up. I remember when I was looking I found tonnes of yards that now have websites, so definitely worth a look.

Also, I know several people who have literally driven around and knocked on doors (or gates!) to ask around. So anywhere where you see horses ask if they have vacancies as you never know what you might find!

It's hideous isn't it trying to find somewhere new :( It's just so stressful :(
I am also giving my girl hay in the field still... there's plenty of grazing but due to fencing issues I can't turn my mare out in it. The hacking is great where I am but no-one to ride with :(

I really sympathise and hope you find somewhere soon :)

I'm not in your area so don't know anywhere, but try the local tack shops/websites.

Do you have a horsey website that covers your area?

Good luck :)

gosh!! im looking for a new yard at the moment, and i was lucky enough to find one perfect for me, i searched by using word of mouth, i went to visit a couple of yards that i new were in my area, i also drove around the most horsey places in the area and called in at big yards asking if there was livery spaces available, i know you should call first but i was also desperate to move and i found calling in was a good way if i was just driving past. i also googled a lot of yards and got directions and drove to them. if i found that the yard was full when i got there i asked them if they knew of any livery stables with free spaces availabe in the area, and they gave me a whole list of places, i did infact stumble on a yard which buys and sells horses and they knew a lot, and i mean a lot of yards with a list about as long as my arm, and through them was where i found the yard i will hopefully be moving to in a few weeks, which also happens to be a friend of mines old yard (he moved as he was going to uni!)
hope this helps! and i feel your pain about the running water... thats just terrible!
hope you find somewhere :) x
