Sorry for such a long title....
Basically the title says all!
Beginning to think I'm looking a bit naff at shows in my SSL jacket, no matter how warm it is! I jump 1.1m and have 2 ponies (a third one is "in the making" -being broken- and is showing great poetential so three!) one a flashy scopeu dun, and the other a scopey pony with great presence!
So the SSL just wont cut it anymore and I'm looking for a new one! In Ireland (I've heard it's pretty much the same in the UK) the showring is flooded with animo, kingsland, and the new brand on the scene, Spooks. Riders could easily be wearing an outfit that cost more than one of my ponies!
Soo to cut to the chase, I'm looking for a new coat, to wear for shows. It HAS to be warm, have pockets and look nice. Lots of girls here have the expensive gilets but I dont want to splash out on a gilet only to be stuck when the rain comes!
I know that Hope Valley Saddlery does loads of half price (and futher!) sales on kingsland, but my question is, is it worth it? With a kingsland is there a huge difference in the quality? Do you feel that the coat you have on is worth the money, or would my 30 pound SSL do a better job?
I'm looking at this coat,

The "Kingsland Squaw Valley Junior Jacket" it's down filled, and half price at £83.
Also I've just seen the new Spooks winter jacket -

Spooks Snowmaster Jacket, 120 pound
- Just found it on sale for £84! haha luck or what?-
Or is there a cheaper version anyone has found, thats a nice look and quality and has warmth?
If it helps this is my -new and unused yet- show gear!

(I have these in white though!)

And I am yet to find a show shirt.....
Such a long post and so little said, very sorry!
To sum it up, does anyone know any nice jacket brands, and is kingsland worth it?

I'm not sure what to offer you as an alternative - i found a nice mountain horse jacket but that was more than those above.

I prefer the look of the spooks jacket personally.

Imo Kingsland definately isnt worth the money. Some of the jackets are £300+ and its ridiculous! Every pair of breeches i've had for at home from them has split too, and they're not cheap at £150+ either.

Equiport sometimes have gersemi reduced which are nice jackets.

Tattini is becoming quite popular too.

Rowy they are Baker Plaid Breeches. Got them for $50 on The Lexington Horse. They are lovely quality, they dont have the velcro that the older style breeches have (instead they have a lovely soft technical fabric at the bottom) They run awful small (got a 8, I am an 8, and they are tight on everywhere -even my knees....) but I am determined to wear them as they are lovely!
Haha just wrote a mouthful and all you asked for is the make....
Showjumpingfilly - same as, the spooks is nicer, but then the kingsland could be warmer as it is downs. Gersemi is gorgeous so I'll have to keep a look out, but don't think I could ever find Tattini reduced enough for me!
Yule Mule - surprisingly HKM has some nice jackets too - is there anything they dont have though? It's a great make!

I have that Spooks jacket and it's one of the warmest jackets I have, it's amazing! Only my Wellensteyn Schneezauber is warmer and better (but much longer too).
It is also very very flattering (the Spooks one I mean)

I think Spooks is much better quality than HV Polo, if you found it for £84 definitely go for it!

A bit shocked I never thought of HV Polo as I stalk their saddle cloths religiously! I've had a peak and like what I see so I'll continue.
How worse quality is the HV Polo stuff? -This sounds rude I;m sorry- but how much do you have of it? Just because I've found quite alot of HV polo winter jacket sales. Or would you steer clear of HV?

Don't know whether this counts but I have kingsland hoodies and they are definitely worth the money, great quality and wash really well. Plus if you can find some in the sale it's a bonus! I just keep hunting for a bargain! But agree HKM is a really good brand

Don't buy a down jacket if you intend to use it in the rain. They are useless in the rain - you'll have a jacket full of stalks instead of fluffy feathers!

I have a Wellensteyn jacket which I love - warm, waterproof, breathable and just much smarter than anything else I have ever had for the horses.

Celtic if you're always looking for sale price kingsland look at hopevalleysaddlery - hundred of half price KL!
Spotted, I think I've looked up that brand but it looked more for older (sorry!) people! See as I'm only 14 haha :)

That's ok, I can't think of anything worse than dressing like a 14yo ;)

I agree but the HV polo jacket is soooo warm and a lovely fluffy collar they are half price at the moment I also have a Wellensteyn Jacket in bronze and a long coat they do come up small so get a size bigger !! www.horsehealth.co.uk have a sale on these jackets at the moment also if you do like Kingsland they have a site of there own with some great bargains, just GOOGLE .

Where are the hv polo jackets on sale please?

Ps I like my kingsland clothes, but everyone has them, spooks is the new thing to be seen in so I would go for that!
