I have been searching for months for the pedigree of a horse. I expected it to be easy to find info as she is the dam of Zara Phillips Ardfield Magic Star. She is also the dam of my horses sire which is why I want to know. Its driving me mad! Her name is Coumroe Lady and I know her sire is I'm a Star- and I don't imagine a horse like him would have been put to a rubbishy mare with no breeding- so why can't I find her?!!! Coumroe Lady is reg ISH and as I'm a Star is TB mare is likely to be part Irish. Please can someone help? It would be much appreciated as I know almost every other part of his breeding going way back.

PS- horse is not one in sig- must update that!

No use I'm afraid, thats the bit I know

Thank you for looking anyway. I've scoured the internet already, its probably going to take someone who knows has paper records or knows the horse/ stud etc.

Hi There

Coumroe Lady is a skewbald mare that was originally purchased by John O`Sullivan from Tipperary as a two year old, he then covered her with "Hallo", while she was still in foal she was sold to Eddie Freyne in Cork, up to last year he still had her and I believe she was still breeding! The foal she had by "Hallo" is the renowned sire "Doranstown Hallo", who has himself sired many show winners in Ireland. I dont believe she had any remarkable breeding on her dams side originally, but I believe she was a smashing looking filly in her youth, I saw her myself about 3 years ago and she was still a fine old mare. Hope this is of some help to you

That is fabulous! Thank you so much, Doranstowns Hallo is my horses sire. I have been wanting to know the breeding of Coumroe Lady because obviously Doranstowns Hallo is coloured as is my boy and there's nowhere else it could have come from. To know she was definitely skewbald is great even if no more breeding info.

Glad to have been some help, Coumroe Lady was purchased in the Kilkenny area, because I was with John O`Sullivan one day when he pointed out the farm where he bought her but I am nearly certain she had no recorded breeding. Regardless, she has gone on to produce some fabulous and sucessful animals. I had had a look at the pic`s of your guy he looks really lovely, the best of luck with him.

hi,

we are standing Doranstown Hallo in ireland and there doesn't seem to be any recorded breeding on his dam as we have also been trying to find it. apperently she jumped and doranstown hallo was a grade b jumper and is breeding jumpers and show stock.
