im taking missy to her first showjumping show this weekend and need your advice.

there are 2 parts to the show. one today at 2pm and one tomorrow. my dilemma is that the one today only goes up to 60 cm and the one tomorrow goes up to 1.05 cm. shes jumping happily 1m tracks at home now but i want this to be fun and more then anything easy for her.

im not patient and want to get her out today even though she would jump the 60cm class with her eyes closed or do i wait till tomorrow to do the 80 cm which will make her think a tiny it about coming off the ground!! oh i hate decisions. either way we cant do both! decided im will not over whelm her.

Totally agree - go and start small

We did this with Ellie when she was a baby - yes, she was jumping 1m comfortably at home, but until you get them to the show you never know how they're going to react. Just take her in the smaller class - go HC if you feel you need to - and let her pop quietly round. My first class with Ellie was a 75cm and tbh, we took it so steadily that 'pot hunting' wasnt an issue - we were slooooow

Good luck!
