My 15.3 x bred horse will be having a trace clip this year for hunting. What weight rug should i use? I thought maybe 250g but im not sure.

Depends on how cold it is, you need a range, start light and as it gets colder move up, I start my boy with just a rain sheet, rather colder than to warm. I think its a worry too.

I hate titles like this. I hardly ever look. Also - rugging, you should know. If your horse is cold - add more rugs. If your horse is hot - take rugs off.

OP dont jump straight to a MW (250!) just start light and see how he does - the horse should never ever feel HOT to the touch if they do then they are too hot.

personally i would do a full clip for at least the first 2 clips, esp as you are hunting, then drop a part clip on when it gets cold. rug according to your horse, his environment, his local weather, and whether he is stabled at night. As for rugs a rain sheet, a 100 fill, a 200fill and a 400fill should see you right through autumn/winter/spring. and a fleece/thermotex for travelling!!! Cant see that this deserved an emergency title!!!!
