No.
Possibly too tall for the saddle however.
Horse also looks quite weak but this could be worked on with appropriate work.

You're in the wrong section, you can ask for this to be moved to Tack Room where it will get seen more than in Equestrian News.

Has someone been telling you you are too big for him?

The horse looks weak, it's that possibly what the person is trying to get at? That you are too heavy right now for the horse's current development? I see in another thread that you are jumping him, and if that was recently I would say hold off on that until you've muscled him up a bit. But photos can be deceptive.

If your employer is telling you that you are too tall for that horse then I think you may need a new job. Are they trying to sell you a bigger one?

A well muscled 17hh tb will carry your weight no problem. You aren’t heavy.
If it makes you feel better, do more work building up strength on the ground and do not underestimate the power of hacking in walk. Walk and lots of hills.

The saddle does look to be somewhat of a hindrance with your knee going over the roll.

All of your posts have been related to your size in relation to horse?

Is it your employer?

Yes I'm sure I've already replied to this question? I think I remember saying no, not too big for the horse, but the saddle doesn't look like a good fit for you. My answer would still be the same!

No your not too big as he will fill out and look bigger and stronger and I agree about the saddle it looks a bit small, I wouldn't be jumping him either get him out hacking on hills and on some decent grazing and food he will look completely different in a few months.

You do not look big in the horse. If we all had to look like little kids on horses like some of the smaller riders do then half the equestrian world would be riding 20hh horses which isn’t going to happen. Find a better saddle to cope with your leg length and tell others to bog off.

yes you look big on the horse.

Looking big is not the same as being too big.

Being too big is too heavy for the horse or so big that you will cause it problems in some other way. The OP asked if he was too big to ride the horse, and he isn't, not by a long chalk.

In this picture, the horse is 15.3 and the rider 6ft2, the horse's barrel is barely deeper than his knee to sole of boot length. They were a top international pairing.

No you are certainly not too big, My guess would be you are conscious of your height but actually you look like a pea on a drum on him. He is a big horse with a big frame to fill so in time he will be too big for you. Time and proper work will make a massive difference and yes you need a saddle fitter.
