Help me prepare for cross country at weekend xx

Urm sorry but, an ex-racer that doesn't like XC & a just broken 4 year old that hasn't seen XC doing a pairs class.
Honestly? Even though its the smallest class I'd withdraw & have a couple of XC lessons with a DECENT trainer before trying something like this.
XC (even at lower levels) is dangerous enough without idiocy like this being thrown into the mix TBH - I'm prepared to be flamed for that comment but [shrug] who cares.
If your 4 year old has been good with jumping up until now the scenario you are suggesting is a one way ticket to frightening & ruining a young horse.

Oh...nice edit.

I'm sorry if you didn't like what I put but I do think you would be silly to do this pairs class. There is no fun in going to something completely unprepared & possibly dangerous.

Oh & my favourite breed is a Thoroughbred ;)

I'm really sorry but I agree with glamour puss!! I broke my horse 8 months ago and he has his first competitive XC in 2 weeks. So far we have been XC schooling 4 times and I'm taking him again this week. I made sure he has only ever gone with a more experienced horse to give him something to follow if he started to panic. And we have only just started to canter into fences too as he was not balanced enough. I think I would save my money and take your youngster XC schooling a few times first. Sorry :(

confused.com ?????

The OP wrote a post saying she was doing a pairs competition, the smallest class. Her Nan was riding an ex-racer who doesn't really like XC but will jump some of the jumps.
She was riding a just broken 4 yr old who's jumping was coming on well but had never seen XC.
She wanted to know who we thought should go first & how they should practise this week.

She obviously didn't like my response so did a hasty edit.

Good luck at the weekend OP, I think you might need it.
