Help me rescue my white breeches!

Took an unexpected lie down in a ploughed field in my beautiful white Pikeur breeches....they're not so white now!! The soil was slightly reddish in colour and despite copious amounts of Vanish they're still stubbornly stained...any ideas? They say wash cold so can't do a hot wash.
 
Buy new ones....

Fell off last year in a wet sand school and after many many washes with everything out there I still I marks on my knees where I knelt down afterwards!
 
Mine have always gone in on a normal wash. I would try it if they were mine, you can't wear them as it is anyway.

Or maybe in the sink with a shed load of washing powder/ vanish. It may be more concentrated than in the washing machine.

As glamour doll said not much use to you as is, I've always washed my full seat pikers on 40 deg if same day if longer on 60 deg with no prob, just keep washing them over and over as they're white colour won't fade maybe soak in vanish first then couple of bio tabs and hopefully will be back to normal if not you could dye them dark for everyday but would mean buying another pair
 
Have you soaked them over night in Vanish powder I think its called Oxy white or something like that. I find the saddlecloths that we use for dressage come up like new with Vanish. After soaking all night then put more Vanish in the drum of machine and wash breeches thoroughly. Hope this works good luck.
 
Thanks guys - I'll try washing them at a higher temp as nothing to lose! Plus might try bleach. Have already soaked for days in vanish plus washed in vanish etc...
 
It may be old fashioned but it used to clean poo out of terry nappies & bring them up sparkling white & we also used it to clean stained clothing. Use 'NAPISAN', you mix it up with water in a bucket, leave the clothes to soak & that will remove the stains. Then wash it normally & hopefully the breeches should be ok. I hope that the washing with the other things hasn't set the staining in them though.

Don't use bleach it may attack the fabric, it's extremely harsh.
 
Mud is horrible to get rid of. The problem with washing hotter is that you may "set" the stain? I think there is a FB page on stain removers? (How sad is that? That I know there is, I mean, not that there is one :) )
 
If your going to bleach them get some peroxide from the chemists and use that. They wont go yellow or get holes in them then. Experience talking here trust me.:D
 
A second vote for Napisan. Also hanging out in the sun (!) helps to get rid of stains. Works wonders so may be worth hanging on to them until we get some sunny weather even if nothing else does the trick in the mean time.
 
Cant you get "washing" bleach, not just the cleaning one.

If you look in the supermarket you can get Dr Beckmens product for white stuff. Its a box full of little sachets that you sling in the washing machine. This would help.

Would net curtain whitener work?
 
I always put the washing powder liquid straight onto the stain and rub it in then wash at 40 preferably on their own or with a small amount of very white washing usually works for biological stains like soil, blood etc
