Really need some advice with my great donkey. He used to jump perfectly with no rushing into the fences etc but now he tries to bolt into the fences and launches his head in the air all the time. Any advice on how I can help him regain his brain and help us enjoy it again? He's a thoroughbred by the way not an actual donkey lol

As above...sounds like pain or lac of basic training to listen to you. If he is forward and excited, it's likely a training issue. If it just rushing over the jumps though, it is likely a pain issue.

I'd start with teeth, then back and saddle checks as a basic and go from there.

My mare would throw her head up in the air - called the vet out and they said she had a sharp bit on one of her teeth so filed it down....£100 later but it did the trick!

Yeah it was..now I think of it that was so expensive, that inc the call out which is about £35 odd...and I'm sure they had to mildly sedate her too
