So, we've had ever such a good winter what with getting 24/7 turnout and that. The farmer even put hay in the fields for all of 'em. The horses I mean, not the cows as all the cows are kept in this time of year as it's so muddy. The farmer doesn't want them getting mud-rot and that.

Anyway, I brought my horse in last night as I've got a lesson tomorrow and I thought maybe he might dry out a bit in a stable. I took his rug off and I kid you not, all his hairs fallin' out!! It was like walkin' into a cloud of dust!!!! Except it was hair. Dusty hair and that! lol!

Next fing I know I was brushin' 'im and guess what? More hairs fallin' out! I'm finking is christmas!!! LOL!!!! Anyway, back to the serious stuff. Anayway, when I turned him out in the paddock in Novembah, he was really fat and that. Now all his hairs off, (took me ages btw)well..................................... he's still fat.

I carrnt get the saddle on!!!!

I tried and tried, I even got OH to sit on him. He's only 14.2 bless him and me husband's a rugby player for Walsall! That girth was never doin' up!!!

Now, I'm not bein' funny but, do you think it's because he's swollen up as lost hair they say causes swellin? Someone said I should clip him so I tried that and he looked like a one of them peacocks you see on hedges. Don't think me husband knew what she meant. But, neither did I, mind you she speaks "Queeeeeeens EEEngerleeesh". Whatever that is. Thought the Queen was german meself but anayway.

Anyway, dunno 'ow I'm gonna get to me lesson, as his hair's fallen out and I can;t get me saddle on!!!

Apparently, if you put a fly-veil on it really helps but I'm desparin' I really am!!!!

Anyone got any advice?

My friends horse has something abit similar at the moment, vet reckons it is seasonal hairloss, probably due to adapting to a new environment (horse has recently moved to this country from somewhere much warmer!). This horse was quite poor when he came over but is getting alot better now, but a few weeks ago we noticed his hair was starting to come out in patches all over him, at first we thought it might be lice but it isn't. The vet has given friend a special wash for him now which should hopefully help.

hair regrowth products? bareback :-)

I would try heair regrowth products but you see, if it works on a horse the husband has it (he's adament it will work... it does on his balls but never seems to on the ol' head).

You think it's seasonal??? My crikey. I didnea think of that. It IS the mid winter here after all in the South West of England and I tell you, It's freezin,

I went out to to Kathy's 'do last nigh and I was fully bedecked in a boob-tube, mini skirt and boots and I was freezin!!!!!!

Mine is doing exactly the same thing, the Yak look is definitely going.

If you find a cure please, please message me as I am really worried.

I know - they were patent with stretchy bits aswell. Freezin I was. Freezin!!!!

You know I did wonder that about his shoes 'coz metal IS meant to be colder than air. I'll ask the machanic about that. Thanks cuppatea, you are well clever :)

OMG!!! I never though of that.... blimmin veeet.

Off t'Boots'. See ya when I get back.....

Sent from ma Ifon init:

p.s. excuse typos - ifons can't spell.

Ok so I've just got back from Boots with the veet. Its a bit dark at the stables. The only lightbulb we got just popped. I might wait till tomorrow morning.

Do you think my teacher will mind if I shave his legs just before his lesson? I'll totally moisturise before we do our thing in front of her and that.

You joke but... my horse has been coming in from the field with bald patches on his flanks, I got the vet to look when she did his vacs and she didn't think it was anything to worry about...

So there I was poo picking the other day and I notice my horse and field mate playing... field mate is grabbing and biting my horse's flanks...

Yes... his field mate is plucking him! :D They are in adjoining fields until his summer coat is through! :D

Ta stup 'orsy loosing its 'air, dun't forgeet ta tri parelli. Been tuld it wourks wunders.

(( and give the horse plucking horse a chicken, something useful to do!! ))*
