A week or so ago I noticed that my mare had a very small cut on her front leg at the bottom of her knee. I cleaned and left it. The next day she has an identical one on her fetlock on the same leg, I did the same again.
Two days ago she has got one at the bottom of her knee on the other leg, exact same place as the first, and then the next day on her fetlock, same as before!
So I bandaged her front legs going to bed and this seems to have stopped them coming back (two were definitely re opened).
She's in a huge stable with straw. There is nothing she can be cutting them off, unless she's eating them, or finding bare concrete? I've never seen her biting them. They are very small, but I don't like them getting re grazed and not knowing what is up. Her back legs are fine. The cuts are about a cm wide.
Any ideas?
