My friend is moving to Devizes, Wiltshire (postcode SN10) in 4 weeks. She is looking for a livery yard which can offer assisted DIY in this area. Her mare has had laminitis in the past, so she must have a stable. She went to Wiltshire last weekend and looked around yards that she had found in the yellow pages, but they were quite expensive. I was hoping someone on here might be able to recommend a yard?

Theres a bit equestrian centre at Pewsy (might have a website). Also Google BHS riding clubs in the area and look on their website at their classified ads - they usually have livery yards on them. I think Kennet Vale Riding Club cover Devizes area but im not sure which other do (there are two or thre I think in that area) - oh, might be worth looking on Bath Riding Club website. If there are no livery yards advetised, Im sure that if your friend emailed the local riding clubs they could maybe suggest some yards. Also go on BHS register of instructors - look for ones near Devizes, and give them a tinkle to pick their brains for local yards. Its just a case of doing a bit of research. Also pop into Countrywide at Melksham who have a noticeboard, as does Wadswick.

Abbotswood is worth a try but I have a feeling their full at the moment. There is a DIY livery yard down the same road where I keep my horses. Nice little yard, not very big. Lovely hacking around the area, so many different places to explore.

Good luck :)
