Just had the saddler fitter out and my second hand wintec's tree was snapped in half so competely unusable. Poor Ponio :(

Anyone know where I can find a saddle for around £300, medium fit, leather/synthetic (not bothered), 17 - 17 1/2?

It's for general purpose. Tried the new Wintec 500 and loved the fit but want to know what else is out there first!

Thanks all x

I love my Wintec VSD, have dessaged, showjumped and xc'd in it. Unfortunately doesn't fit my new boy, so I finally got the saddle i have lusted after for ages - a Derby House Samber, in brown. Fits the boy perfectly, is SO comfortable, although i wouldn't want to jump too high in it as the knee rolls seem more straight cut than the VSD. They are pretty expensive but I got a hardly used one from Ebay for just £200!

Sounds like you were lucky!

I've been looking at Ebay but must be too fussy as I can't see anything I like that will fit him!

I'll have another look now!

Its probably no help at all, but i have a 17.5 inch kent and masters saddle that i may possibly think about selling. Its a wide at the mo but has a changable gullet. Its only 6 weeks old and has hardly been used. But i would be looking at £500 for it as it was £700 new.

Its a lovely saddle, really comfy and full leather.

this is probably no help at all, but i have the Wintec 500 and love it, the only 'flaw' well it kind of isn't, is that the stirrup bars and quite easy for the stirrup to come off. I know this is good from a safety aspect, but it's quite annoying, because they often come off when shortening stirrups etc.
So yeah, its good, the stirrup bars just annoy me haha :)

I had the old version of the Wintec 500 with the Wintec stirrup leathers and had the same problem! Have you bought new stirrup leathers as this stopped them slipping for me?

I guess you want quite a newish saddle? I have an Ideal 17"-17.5" it's not newish, but it's in good condition, and will be much much much less than your budget. PM me if you need further details, or photo's or anything. Thanks.

I have leather stirrup leathers, they are a bit rubbish though, so micht get some new ones and see if it makes a difference :)
thanks, i hope you find a saddle soon. Why not ride bareback until you find one, i did until mine arrived cos she didn't come with tack.
:)
